Terms of use
The rules for using Storylit, in plain words.
A draft for our lawyer's review. These terms are being reviewed by a lawyer, in every language, before Storylit launches; anything marked TO CONFIRM is still being settled. It is not legal advice.
Effective date: October 21, 2026 (U.S. Eastern Time) · Version 2026-10-21
Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you, the parent or guardian who makes a Storylit account, and Breath Global, Inc., the company behind Storylit. By making an account you agree to them and to our privacy policy, which explains what we do with information.
Free, and nothing for a child to buy
The Storylit app is free to download, free to sign up and free to use. There is nothing for a child to buy. If we ever offer something paid, a grown-up will see the price and the terms first, and nothing will be charged without the grown-up's sign-in.
A grown-up holds the account
- You must be a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older to make an account. Children use Storylit inside your account, and you decide how it is used.
- Keep your sign-in and your grown-up passcode to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- Give true details, and keep them up to date in Profile.
An early version
Storylit is in development: features change, some screens use sample content, and the studios are a concept that is not open. We work to keep the app available and correct, but we cannot promise it will always work without interruption or that every story will suit every child; please look at what your child uses.
What your family makes stays yours
Stories, paintings, photos and recordings your family makes are yours, and they stay on your device. We claim no rights to them. If you share one, you choose with whom, and you are responsible for sharing it only with people who should see it.
Storylit's own content
The app, its characters, stories, art, music and code belong to Breath Global, Inc. or its licensors. You may use them for your family's own fun and learning, not to copy, sell or build another service. "Storylit" is a working name pending a trademark search.
Fair use
Use Storylit for your family. Do not misuse it, try to break into it or overload it, send it anything harmful, or use it to collect other people's information. We may pause or close an account that does, after telling you why when we can.
Ending your account
You can stop at any time: Profile, then Privacy and data, then Delete my account. We may end the service, or a feature, with reasonable notice in the app; if we do, you can still download your family's data first.
Our responsibility to you
Storylit is free and provided as it is, as far as the law allows. We are responsible for harm that we cause through negligence or that the law does not let us exclude, and nothing in these terms limits that.
Your rights as a consumer stay yours. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer law where you live, including in the United Kingdom, the European Union and Brazil (the Consumer Defence Code), or in any other country whose law protects you.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of [TO CONFIRM: North Carolina, United States]. If you live in the UK, the European Union, Brazil or another country whose law says so, you also keep the protection of your own country's mandatory laws and can bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by e-mail before the change applies. If you do not agree, you can delete your account at any time.
