Parents hold the keys.
Storylit is for kids, so it is planned around what parents need: you own the account, the photos and every purchase, and you can delete anything at any time.
Written into the plan
These are the commitments Storylit is being designed around, in the U.S. under COPPA, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, and its equivalents elsewhere.
Parents own the account
Only a parent can make an account, book, pay or share. Kids use the app inside a parent's account.
Kids never buy
Story Stars are earned or given by a parent. Any purchase needs the parent's sign-in.
Photos are private
Your photos are yours. Never sold, never used for ads, never shown publicly without your OK.
Deleted on request
Ask, and the photos and the account are deleted, from the app and the studio's systems.
Background-checked actors
Every actor and crew member is checked and trained in child safety before working a set.
No faces on the floor
The floor senses movement only. No cameras on the floor, and nothing it sees is recorded.
A parent stays close
Parents stay in the studio for the whole visit, and can see their child on set at all times.
No ads to kids
No ads in the app, no chat with strangers, and the Friends Portal only works with both parents' OK.
Calm when needed
Sensory-friendly hours with softer light, quieter sound and slower floor effects are planned.
What to expect
- About an hour: Creative Corner, the shoot, then a look at the photos together.
- Ages: designed for roughly 2 to 10, with siblings welcome.
- You choose which photos go into the app and which stay off it.
- Accessible sets: step-free floors and room for wheelchairs and strollers are part of the plan.

Privacy, in short
A parent or guardian, 18 or older, signs up. We keep your name, e-mail, country and postal area (or city), each child's grade level, how you heard about us and your news choice. Your children's names, ages, photos, voices and drawings stay on your device. No ads, nothing sold. Delete everything any time in the app.
Terms of use
Free for families, a parent or guardian holds the account, what your family makes stays yours, and your rights as a consumer always stay yours.
Screen time with purpose
Every minute in the Storylit app is your child making something: a story, a painting, a movie, a tune or a written answer. No ads and no endless feeds, and you set the limits: a grown-up passcode that locks the app, a daily time limit, quiet hours, and voice, photo and video features on or off.
A digital literacy foundation
Kids practise reading, writing and storytelling, and learn how digital things are made (scenes, sound, music and video) in a safe place.
Grown-ups steer
Pick learning goals like kindness or a reading focus, see progress per child, and keep a private scrapbook of everything they make.
Stays on the device
In the prototype, photos, videos, drawings and voices never leave the phone. Stories are shared with friends only by a parent, as a file or a code.
The app is a concept prototype with a sample family. It is designed to build habits and skills over time; it cannot promise results.
Parents ask
Is Storylit open?
Not yet. Storylit is a concept in development. Nothing can be booked or bought, and the site's prices and numbers are samples or targets.
Who can see my child's photos?
In the plan, only you and anyone you choose to share them with. The studio team uses them to make your photos and keepsakes, and for nothing else.
How does "bring the photo to life" work?
The app would use your studio photos to build a short animated story. Your photos are processed for your story only and are never used to train anything without your explicit OK.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. That is the plan: one request from the parent account deletes the photos, stories and account.
What does the scan-me code play?
A short message from Lumi with the first name you choose. It plays on Storylit's own site, with no sign-in and nothing recorded.
Want Storylit in your city?
Visit counting, only with your OK
When you say OK on the bar at the bottom of the page, this website counts visits with Google Analytics so we can see which pages help families. It is turned off until you say yes, and saying no is remembered.
What is measured?
Pages viewed, buttons tapped and the rough region and device, in Google Analytics, without advertising features. Nothing you type in a form is sent, and nothing about a child is ever collected.
Does the app use it?
No. The Storylit Live app prototype carries no third-party tracking of any kind.
How do I change my answer?
Tap “Cookie choices” at the bottom of any page: OK or No thanks, as easy as the first time. A no stops the counting at once and removes Google Analytics cookies.
