Concept in development

Step into the story.

Storylit is a character photo studio where kids step into a story, and an app that brings the photos to life. A concept from Breath, in development.

The story

Lumi's storybook needs you

Long ago, someone painted a storybook so bright its pages glowed. Left on a high shelf, the paint went quiet, until only one spark was still awake: Lumi. She knows a storybook stays lit as long as children keep stepping in, so she flew out to find them.

Each Storylit world is one chapter of the book. Every child who visits paints, plays and writes a new page, and the chapter glows a little brighter.

  1. Chapter 1Enchanted ForestThe lantern path has dimmed, and the forest has forgotten some of its colors.Your child is the Lantern Keeper, with Moss. The quest: Listen Light the path Give back a color

How a visit works

From hello to a photo that moves

The plan for a visit of about an hour, start to finish.

  1. Book a worldPick a world and a time online. Parents book and pay; kids just choose the story.
  2. Make it in the Creative CornerFamilies make a crown, a wand or a cape for the shoot, with a crafter to help.
  3. Shoot with the charactersStep onto the set. Actors play the people of the world, the floor lights up, a photographer catches it all.
  4. Watch the photos come aliveIn the Storylit Live app, the photos become a short animated adventure starring your child.
Storylit Live, the app

The photo keeps the story going

Storylit Live is the planned app that turns studio photos into short animated adventures: the characters move, the background shifts, and your child's own story plays.

  • Lumi the spark guides every story, with Moss, Pip, Captain Shelly and Bolt along for the ride.
  • The Friends Portal merges friends' photos into one group scene: a party or a class becomes one story.
  • A Paint Studio where every drawing can come alive, plus learning quests woven into the story (planned).
  • Story Stars to earn and spend on outfits, frames and pets, with the wallet held by a parent.

Our safety and privacy promise

Parents hold the keys

Storylit is built for kids, so the plan starts with what parents need to trust it.

Parents own everythingThe account, the photos and every purchase belong to a parent. Kids never buy anything.
Photos deleted on requestPrivate by default, never sold, never used for ads, and deleted when a parent asks.
Background-checked actorsEvery actor and crew member is planned to be background-checked and trained in child safety.
A floor that sees steps, not facesThe planned floor sensors read movement only. Nothing on the floor records anyone.

Questions

Storylit, answered

What is Storylit?

Storylit is a planned character photo studio where kids step into story worlds, plus an app, Storylit Live, that turns their studio photos into short animated adventures. It is a Breath Global venture in concept stage: nothing is open, booked or sold yet.

How does a Storylit visit work?

In the plan, a family books a world, makes a crown, wand or cape in the Creative Corner, then steps into the set with a costumed character while the floor lights up under every step. A photographer captures the story, and the photos come alive in the app afterward.

What ages is Storylit for?

Storylit is designed for children about 2 to 10 and their families, with school days and birthday parties as group visits. Younger siblings and grown-ups are part of the photos too.

How does the app bring photos to life?

Storylit Live separates each studio photo into layers, then animates them: the background drifts, the character moves and waves, sparkles appear and a short caption tells the story. Tilting the phone adds depth, like looking through a window.

Is Storylit safe for kids' photos?

That is the first rule of the plan: a parent owns the account, the photos and every purchase, kids never buy anything, photos are private unless a parent shares them, and any photo is deleted the day a parent asks.

Where and when will the first studio open?

A first Storylit Studio is planned in North Carolina. There is no address or opening date yet; families and partners can tell Breath they are interested with the form on this page.

Bring Storylit to your city

Where should the first studio open?

Storylit is a concept in development. Tell us your city and who you are; it helps decide where a pilot studio could go first.

  • Families: be first to hear when a city is picked.
  • Schools and party hosts: help shape group days.
  • Landlords, partners and investors: see the plan for partners.
