Photos that come alive.

Storylit Live is the planned app for every family that visits: studio photos become short animated adventures with AR and generative AI, the characters move and your child's story plays.

Tap the photo

This sample photo is a drawing, never a real child. Tap it to watch a seven-second adventure: the layers move in depth, Moss waves, Lumi lights the lanterns.

Move a finger over the photo, or tilt your phone, to look around the scene: a stand-in for the app's AR view.

The Friends Portal

Three photos, one story

Friends often visit on different days. The planned Friends Portal merges each child's photo into one group scene, so a party or a whole class becomes one story, with every parent's OK.

  • Only friends whose parents both say yes can be merged.
  • Each family keeps its own copy; nobody else sees it.

Story Stars

Earn stars, dress up the story

Story Stars are the app's planned coin: kids earn them and spend them on outfits, frames and pets for their characters. A parent holds the wallet, and kids never buy anything.

Parents hold the Story Stars wallet. Stars are earned or given by a parent; any money top-up would need a parent's sign-in. No ads, no surprise charges.

Learning inside the story

Pre-K to Grade 5, one storybook

In the prototype, every grade is a new volume of Lumi's storybook, and pages are earned by learning. Aligned to North Carolina standards as a concept; not a school assessment.

Read & RespondRead or listen to an original story, answer questions (the sentence that proves it, too), then write a response with Lumi's checklist.
Bolt's Math AcademyAddition, subtraction, multiplication and division taught step by step: a short lesson, try it together, practice, master it, stretch.
The Paint StudioBrushes, glitter, splats, coloring pages and tracing letters. One tap and the painting comes alive.
A dashboard for grown-upsPractice levels on the report card's 1 to 4 scale, what was practised this week, and written responses. Aims toward exemplary; never a guarantee.

Questions

Storylit Live, answered

What grades does Storylit Live cover?

The prototype is built for Pre-K through Grade 5: each grade is a volume of Lumi's storybook. Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 are playable in depth; Grades 3 to 5 have sample quests. It is aligned to North Carolina standards as a concept, not a school assessment.

How does Storylit Live teach math?

Bolt's Math Academy teaches addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in order: a short lesson with a model (ten-frames, number lines, base-ten blocks, arrays), then try it together, practice with word problems, a mastery check and a stretch challenge, with review days later.

How does it help reading comprehension?

Read & Respond quests have kids read or listen to an original story, answer who, what, why and find-the-proof questions, then write a response in their own words while Lumi's checklist gives one specific tip at a time.

Is Storylit Live safe for kids?

The prototype has no ads, no purchases for kids and no open chat. Grown-ups approve rewards and hold anything about money behind a press-and-hold gate, and in the demo drawings and writing stay on the device.

What is Storylit Live?

Storylit Live is the planned Storylit app. It turns studio photos into short animated adventures, merges friends into one group scene with the Friends Portal, and keeps the Story Stars kids earn.

What is the Friends Portal?

The Friends Portal lets families combine their children's separate studio photos into one shared scene, so a class or a birthday party becomes one story. Every family's parent has to say yes first.

What are Story Stars?

Story Stars are points kids earn for visits, birthdays and kind acts, and spend on accessories for their character in the app, like crowns, capes and pets. Stars are earned, never bought, and a grown-up approves every spend.

Can I try the app?

Yes: a clickable prototype with a sample family runs in the browser at storylit-breathglobal.web.app/app/. It is a demo; nothing is saved to a server and nothing is charged.
